LOST SCULPTURE PROJECT DIA [Converted].png

Museum for Lost
Sculptures at Golden Horn

Location: Istanbul - Turkey
Year: 2021
Category: Personal Graduation Project / Studio IV
Stage: Delivered
Type: Cultural

The project aims to enhance the public’s relationship with sculptures by displaying them in a park in Balat, Istanbul. The park was chosen based on an analysis of the daily habits of the residents, including the ways in which they use the beach and the routes they take. The sculptures that will be displayed will be of different types, including monumental sculptures and smaller sculptures that establish a more personal and subjective relationship with the public. The goal of this project is to provide a more positive and meaningful connection between the sculptures and the public, in order to enrich the cultural and artistic experience of the community.

The park, which is located between the beach and the Balat neighborhood, was determined to be a suitable location for the sculptures due to its frequent use by associations and clubs. The museum itself will be positioned on the coastline where public use is officially recognized. This is in order to break down the boundaries between the museum and the public and to exhibit sculptures in their proper context. The goal is to create a more immersive and meaningful experience for the community by placing the sculptures in a context that they can easily relate to in their daily lives.
